About Us
About Bhavna
“Uttarakhand, aptly nicknamed ‘Land of the Gods‘, is home to numerous ancient temples and sacred sites.
Bhavna Dhoop Cones and Incense Sticks represent a unique initiative in reprocessing waste flowers. We collect flowers offered at various temples in Uttarakhand, rescuing them from landfills and rivers. These flowers are then transformed into incense sticks and cones, known as agarbatti and dhoopbatti, which connect people with the spirituality of Uttarakhand’s temples.
The Char Dham – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Haridwar, and Rishikesh – serve as the primary flower waste collection centers for the Bhavna Devbhoomi Temple Flower Reprocessing Project. These sacred destinations attract millions of devotees seeking spiritual enlightenment and solace.
However, the growing number of pilgrims and human activities have taken a toll on the environment, nearby areas, and ultimately the sacred River Ganga.
The Ganga, considered India’s lifeline, faces severe pollution threats from industrial waste, plastic, human waste, and flower waste (often overlooked), contaminating the river and putting aquatic life and human health at risk, particularly in Haridwar, Rishikesh, and other parts of Devbhoomi.
To address this issue, Bhavna Devbhoomi takes initiatives to convert flower waste into fragrant Dhoop Cones and Incense Sticks.
In addition, Bhavna Devbhoomi works to reduce migration in Uttarakhand by providing employment and special training sessions. We empower rural women and support the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Swachh Bharat’ initiatives.”

Our Inspiration
Bhavna Devi Ji’s devotion, faith, and spirituality inspired the beginning of bhavna Devbhoomi Temple Flower Reprocessing Project. Bhavna Devi Ji was a woman of strong resolve, who despite facing the sudden loss of her husband, dedicated her life to worship, prayer, and devotion to God. She was deeply concerned about the issue of unemployment in Uttarakhand and often discussed ways to improve the situation with her son, Vikas Uniyal.
Inspired by her values and beliefs, Vikas Uniyal started creating incense sticks and dhoopbattis from the flowers offered in the temples of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, and employed local people, especially from rural areas, to manufacture these products. This initiative empowers rural women and local communities. Vikas Uniyal, Bhavna Devi Ji’s son, continues to work tirelessly to turn his mother’s dream into reality.
Founder
Vikas Uniyal, who sought to fulfill his mother’s dreams, found all his paths blocked when he lost his father at the age of 17. Despite spending 14 years in the print media after his father’s death, he never ignored his mother’s devotion and concern for rural women.
His unwavering determination led to the creation of brands like Bhavna (Dhoop Cones and Incense Sticks), Bhavna (Pure Spices), and Bhavna (Organic Gulaal).
To strengthen his ambitions, he participated in various entrepreneurship programs. Within the last year, he has trained over 550 rural and urban women in the incense and agarbatti sector. He believes in “Make in India” and wants to contribute to the nation’s development. He is leading the true initiative of “Vocal for Local” and has become the primary source of income for over 25 families.
